Key Responsibilities- Conduct research and analysis to support the development, evaluation, and implementation of comprehensive studies, plans, and programs.
- Manage the collection, analysis, and presentation of data to inform land use, economic base, transportation systems, and community facilities planning.
- Develop and interpret zoning, subdivision, and other land development regulations.
- Represent the organization at meetings with elected officials, interdepartmental, and intergovernmental meetings.
- Mastery of comprehensive planning principles and practices.
- Knowledge of laws and regulations governing comprehensive planning.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Excellent communication and presentation skills.
- Ability to work effectively in a team environment.
This position is based in an office environment and requires sitting for extended periods. The ideal candidate will be able to work effectively in a fast-paced environment and prioritize tasks to meet deadlines.
Minimum Qualifications- Master's degree in Urban or Community Planning.
- Three years of experience as a community planner, with two years as a project leader.
In the event of an emergency or disaster, the employee may be required to respond promptly to duties and responsibilities as assigned by the department, the County's Office of Emergency Management, or County Administration.
