About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and compassionate Radiation Therapy Nurse to join our team at TriStar Summit Medical Center. As a Radiation Therapy Nurse, you will play a vital role in providing exceptional patient care and support to individuals undergoing radiation therapy.

Key Responsibilities
  • Evaluate patients throughout their radiation treatment journey and provide education on potential side effects and management of their care.
  • Implement and monitor patient care plans, ensuring seamless coordination with the multidisciplinary team.
  • Schedule diagnostic and/or radiation treatment planning exams, ensuring timely and efficient care.
  • Monitor, record, and communicate patient condition as appropriate, maintaining accurate and up-to-date records.
  • Serve as a primary coordinator of the multidisciplinary team, ensuring well-coordinated patient care and effective communication.
  • Implement and document physician and nursing orders, adhering to established protocols and guidelines.
  • Assess and coordinate patient's discharge planning needs with members of the multidisciplinary team, ensuring a smooth transition to post-acute care.
Requirements
  • Current BLS certification upon hire, ACLS preferred.
  • TN RN licensure or compact state licensure.
  • At least 1 year of RN experience, with critical care experience preferred.
  • Oncology Certified Nurse (OCN) or BMT Certified Nurse preferred.
