About the Role

We are seeking a skilled Nurse Practitioner to join our team at Wellpath. As a key member of our healthcare team, you will provide high-quality medical services to inmates, working under the supervision of our Site Medical Director and other site physicians.

Key Responsibilities
  • Examine patients, conduct chronic care clinics, and perform infirmary rounds, ensuring all interactions and progress notes are documented in SOAP format.
  • Respond to health emergencies and provide on-site emergency treatment, adhering to standard guidelines.
  • Utilize available in-house resources for treatment before considering off-site referrals and adhere to the established formulary for therapeutic regimens.
  • Maintain patient confidentiality and privacy in accordance with accepted practices for incarcerated individuals.
Requirements
  • A graduate of an accredited school of nursing and an advanced degree in an approved and accredited Nurse Practitioner program.
  • Prior medical/surgical and/or emergency/trauma experience and corrections experience is preferred.
  • Must have the patience and tact to deal with the inmate population and ability to work effectively in the corrections environment.
  • Scheduling flexibility is also required to be able to rotate hours and shifts, if needed, and to be called during emergency situations to provide coverage.
