Job Summary

We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Food Services Manager in Training to join our team at Frontier Management (OR). As a key member of our operations team, you will play a vital role in ensuring the highest level of quality and service in our food services department.

Key Responsibilities
  • Leadership and Management: Assist the Food Services Director in leading quality dining programs that enhance the meal experience for our residents.
  • Program Development: Work with the Food Services Director to ensure that our dining programs meet federal, state, and local standards, guidelines, and regulations.
  • Training and Development: Train workers in procedures and proper operation and maintenance of equipment.
  • Quality Control: Supervise and evaluate the quality of work completed by department employees.
  • Staffing and Scheduling: Plan work and staffing schedules to ensure adequate services are rendered and maintain proper staffing levels.
  • Record Keeping: Maintain required records, including inventory, compliance, income/expense, and personnel records.
  • Cost Management: Manage a cost-effective program to budget.
  • Customer Service: Maintain excellent relations with residents, visitors, and all community departments.
  • Communication: Actively participate in facility meetings and committees.
  • Compliance: Follow all Company policies and procedures.
  • Team Development: Promote the professional growth and development of the entire departmental team.
  • Quality Assurance: Conduct quality assurance rounds and inspections to ensure current quality controls and methodologies are suitable and sustainable.
  • Reporting: Report monthly initiatives, goals, and accomplishments.
  • Resident Satisfaction: Promote and monitor resident satisfaction.
  • Sanitation and Safety: Ensure that the food service operation is maintained in a clean, safe, and sanitary manner.
Requirements
  • Education: Associate's or higher degree in food service management or in hospitality, including a course of study in food service or restaurant management from an accredited institution of higher learning.
  • Experience: Food service supervisory experience required; at least two years experience in long-term care preferred.
  • Certifications: ServSafe Certification for Managers, National Restaurant Association; Certified Dietary Manager, Certified Food Protection Professional (CDM, CFPP), per the Certifying Board for Dietary Managers, the credentialing agency of the Association of Nutrition & Foodservice Professionals (ANFP).
  • Skills: Skilled in motivating and supervising staff members; excellent interpersonal skills, customer service, and quality attitude; ability to work under pressure and meet established goals and objectives; public speaking skills; excellent stress management skills, administrative, and organizational, and follow-through (with associates and clients) skills required.
  • Availability: Ability to work all shifts as needed.
  • Technical Skills: Proficient in the use of Windows-based office software, including but not limited to Microsoft Office, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook.
