About the RoleThe Maintenance Planner will play a crucial role in assisting the Maintenance Manager in developing a reliability-based maintenance strategy. This strategy will focus on preventative and predictive maintenance to ensure the optimal performance of equipment. The successful candidate will work closely with the Maintenance Manager to build a reliable maintenance team and will be responsible for performing preventative, predictive, and routine maintenance tasks.
Key Responsibilities
• Maintain equipment records in the CMMS to support repair analysis
• Maintain equipment status by priority to support repair analysis
• Maintain equipment catalog profiles to drive part failure data collection
• Setup and maintain all predictive and preventative maintenance plans in the CMMS to maximize equipment reliability
• Determine the most cost-effective method of conducting preventative and predictive maintenance checks based on equipment criticality
• Generate PM work orders in the CMMS for the next 14-28 days
• Monitor and report if preventative maintenance is being completed to maintain equipment reliability
• Release and schedule PM work orders to maintenance crews
• Seek input from maintenance supervisors to continually improve and adjust PM work orders based on equipment and part performance/failure
• Plan and schedule corrective work to maximize crew utilization and effectiveness
• Review work requests and collaborate with other departments if needed and create the work orders
• Create purchase requisitions as needed for parts and/or services
• Organize all purchase requisitions for the maintenance department and give to the Maintenance director daily for review and approval
• Calculate next week's available hours (crew size) to develop the weekly schedule
• Review previous weeks performance and data and develop a weekly scorecard for the Maintenance director
• Create and maintain staffing reports categorized by name, shift, and department
• Create and disperse reports for the Maintenance director as needed, such as PM completion, OT report, maintenance metric (planned hours vs. actual hours worked vs. scheduled hours), previous week's downtime report and the weekend work list
• Track and maintain equipment downtime weekly, based off of event, duration, equipment, time, and mechanic
• Assist Maintenance director as needed with any and all department work
Requirements
The ideal candidate will have 2-3 years of experience as a Maintenance Planner with previous Poultry plant experience. They will have knowledge and understanding of equipment and general maintenance. The candidate will also have the ability to be flexible and work independently, as well as work well with others in a diverse environment. Strong organization and time management skills are also required, as well as excellent communication skills and relations-building skills.
Preferred Qualifications
The following qualifications are preferred:
• Experience creating purchase requisitions
• Prior experience using CMMS
• Knowledge of industrial maintenance and electrical functions
• A strong attention to detail with a self-motivating attitude
