This program provides a unique opportunity for students to engage in applied, policy-oriented research and gain valuable experience working with a multidisciplinary team.brbrbProgram Overview/bbrbrThe Summer Associate Program is designed for full-time doctoral students in Economics who have completed at least two years of graduate work and are within two years of completion of their doctorate or degree. Participants will work on a wide range of domestic and international social policy issues, as well as national security problems, and will have the opportunity to conduct research, present their findings, and network with other researchers.brbrbResponsibilities/bbrbrSummer Associates will be responsible for conducting research, analyzing data, and presenting their findings to the RAND community. They will also have the opportunity to work closely with established RAND researchers, network with other researchers, and attend seminars from researchers both within and outside of RAND.brbrbRequirements/bbrbrTo be eligible for the program, applicants must have a strong background in economic theory and econometrics, as well as experience in conducting applied microeconomic research. They must also be able to communicate clearly and effectively in English, both verbally and in writing, and be able to work effectively as a member of a multidisciplinary team. Additionally, applicants must have a strong commitment to RAND's core values of quality and objectivity, and be able to work in a fast-paced environment.brbrbBenefits/bbrbrSummer Associates will receive a bi-weekly paycheck during their assignment with RAND, and will have the opportunity to gain valuable experience working on applied, policy-oriented research.
