Position Overview

The Substitute Custodian is responsible for performing essential cleaning and maintenance tasks at designated facilities within the district. This role involves ensuring that various areas such as classrooms, restrooms, and common spaces are maintained to a high standard of cleanliness.

Key Responsibilities
  • Conduct routine cleaning of educational and administrative spaces, including but not limited to classrooms, locker rooms, cafeterias, and gymnasiums.
  • Ensure restrooms are thoroughly cleaned and stocked on a daily basis.
  • Perform floor care tasks such as sweeping, mopping, scrubbing, waxing, and polishing various surfaces.
  • Wash windows, clean walls, and maintain whiteboards, ensuring all areas are presentable.
  • Manage waste disposal by emptying and cleaning waste receptacles.
  • Assist in rearranging furniture and equipment to prepare spaces for daily activities and special events.
Qualifications

Candidates must possess a valid Class C California driver's license and may need to provide proof of appropriate insurance as per DMV regulations. Additionally, valid First Aid and CPR certifications are required.

Testing Requirement

All applicants must successfully complete a custodial assessment.
