Assembly Technician

Job Summary:
Eaton's IS AER FMC division is seeking a skilled Assembly Technician to join their team.
Key Responsibilities:
- Assemble and build non-Marine & Defense sub-assemblies, rotating group, pumps, and motors with close tolerances and critical operating requirements.
- Complete quality and customer information on reports and documents.
- Troubleshoot and repair REO and failed test stand pumps and motors to full operational status.
- Set up and operate assembly department test stands without assistance and maintain requirements.
- Read and interpret test procedures to determine if units meet quality and standards requirements.
- Read gauges and transfer data to quality reports and documents.
- Interpret hydraulic schematics, pressure gauges, strip recorders, and test stand x-y plots.
- Responsible for cleaning and packing operations required for rotating group processing.
- Utilize hand tools in building and testing units.
- Maintain cleanliness and order in working areas.
- Ability to read and complete inspection ledger, inspection check sheet, operation sheet, move ticket, and discrepancy report.
- Notify supervisors when work received does not meet specifications.
- Perform operator-defined preventative maintenance and 5S tasks.
- Return tools to proper location at end of shift and clean work area.
- Proper use of tools and gauges to complete work to specifications.
- Subassembly operations such as installation of pins, plugs, inserts, bearings, and miscellaneous components.
- Perform minor sanding, lapping, deburr, or repair work as required.
- Compliance to Manufacturing Self-Release Process and quality of product going to next operation.
- Responsible for safety for self and other employees in area.
Qualifications:
BASIC QUALIFICATIONS:
- High school diploma or GED required.
- Minimum two (2) years of experience performing mechanical assembly, disassembly, and troubleshooting in a manufacturing, military, or aviation environment.
- This position requires use of information or access to hardware which is subject to the International Traffic in Arms Regulations (ITAR).
- No relocation benefits are being offered for this position.
Skills:
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:
- Certification in Hydraulic Mechanics or related field from an accredited college or vocational school.
- Associates degree in a technical field from an accredited institution.
- Prior work experience with hydraulic systems in an aviation or military setting.
- Understanding of and ability to manipulate mechanical systems.
- Experience in tool making.
- Familiarity with various types of test equipment used to test hydraulic systems and components.
- A&P Mechanic certification.
