Job Title: Registered Nurse I, NS35 NICU

SUNY Downstate Health Sciences University is seeking a highly skilled Registered Nurse I to join our team in the Neonatal ICU. As a Registered Nurse I, you will provide direct patient care, develop and implement individualized care plans, and collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to ensure optimal patient outcomes.

Responsibilities:
  • Provide direct patient care, including administering medications, monitoring vital signs, and performing treatments.
  • Develop and implement individualized care plans, taking into account patient needs, medical history, and treatment goals.
  • Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams, including physicians, therapists, and other healthcare professionals, to ensure optimal patient outcomes.
  • Participate in quality improvement initiatives, identifying areas for improvement and implementing changes to enhance patient care.
  • Provide education and support to patients and families, promoting health literacy and self-management skills.
Requirements:
  • Current licensure as a Registered Professional Nurse in New York State.
  • 1 year of relevant clinical experience, preferably in a neonatal ICU setting.
  • Bachelor of Science Degree in Nursing, or equivalent.
Work Schedule:

Variable days, 7:30am to 8:00pm, full-time.

Salary:

$100,951 to $121,743, based on years of experience and education, plus shift and/or inconvenience pay, if applicable.
