Key Responsibilities:
  • Diagnoses and troubleshoots mechanical issues in vehicles and equipment.
  • Conducts extensive engine repairs and related service tasks.
  • Disassembles, evaluates, and reassembles components to meet manufacturer specifications.
  • Ensures quality assurance through thorough inspections of completed work.
  • Documents necessary information to finalize service orders.
  • Performs analysis on failed engine parts to determine root causes.
  • Mentors and trains junior technicians in best practices.
  • Supports service management with operational tasks, including work orders.
  • Utilizes technology and software for diagnostics and engine reprogramming.
  • Completes all required documentation for service reports and inventory management.
  • Interprets technical manuals and online resources to assist in repairs.
  • Operates vehicles and equipment while maintaining required certifications.
  • Follows safety protocols and regulations regarding hazardous materials.
  • Maintains tools and equipment in optimal condition.
  • Communicates effectively with supervisors and clients regarding job status.
  • Available for overtime based on workload demands.
  • Exhibits professionalism in all interactions, including personal presentation.
  • Completes all mandatory training and safety courses.
  • Adheres to safety policies and company standards consistently.
  • Regular attendance is essential.
  • Performs additional tasks as assigned.
Required Skills and Qualifications:
  • Comprehensive knowledge of tools and equipment, including their maintenance and repair.
  • Proficient in current software and diagnostic tools for heavy-duty vehicles.
  • Ability to operate and control on-highway trucks and trailers.
  • Strong problem-solving and analytical skills.
  • Effective verbal communication abilities.
  • Exceptional customer service skills.
  • Excellent organizational and time management capabilities.
  • Ability to follow systematic troubleshooting processes.
  • Capacity to work independently and collaboratively within a team.
  • Competence in operating forklifts and various mechanical tools.

Education and Experience:
  • High school diploma or equivalent is mandatory.
  • 8 to 10 years of relevant experience is required; 10 to 15 years is preferred.
  • CDL - Class A or B is necessary.
  • ASE - Master Medium/Heavy Truck Certification is required.
  • Forklift operation certification is required.
  • Preferred training includes DiSC, Blue Book, and Conflict Resolution.
Travel Requirements:
  • Minimal travel may be required for customer site visits.
  • Travel to assist other locations during peak workloads may be necessary.
Additional Requirements:
  • Must possess and maintain personal tools for job performance.
  • A valid driver's license with a satisfactory driving record is required.
Physical Demands:
  • Significant time spent standing and moving.
  • Frequent use of hands requiring good dexterity.
  • Regular communication with clients and team members.
  • Ability to respond to visual and auditory signals, including alarms.
  • Must be capable of lifting and moving items up to 50 lbs.
  • Occasional kneeling, crouching, and balancing may be required.
  • Ability to climb and descend using both hands and feet.
Work Environment:
  • Work is primarily indoors around moving mechanical parts.
  • Exposure to various weather conditions when working outside.
