Emergency Medicine Physician Opportunity

We are seeking an experienced Emergency Medicine physician to join our dynamic team at VCU Medical Center and our community Emergency Departments in New Kent County and Tappahannock, Virginia.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Provide high-quality patient care, demonstrating proficiency in the evaluation, diagnosis, and management of acute medical and traumatic conditions.
  • Participate in teaching medical students, residents, and fellows, providing didactic lectures, bedside teaching, and simulation-based training.
  • Engage in impactful research and scholarly activities, generating knowledge and contributing to advancements in emergency medicine practice.
  • Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to improve patient outcomes, participate in quality improvement initiatives, and promote patient safety and satisfaction.
  • Contribute to administrative and leadership responsibilities within the department, fostering a positive work environment and supporting the growth of emergency medicine services.
Requirements:
  • Unrestricted Virginia medical license or ability to qualify for one.
  • Board Certified/Board Eligible in Emergency Medicine; Fellowship training and/or additional subspecialty certification is desirable.
  • Demonstrated commitment to excellence in clinical care, education, and research within the field of Emergency Medicine.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to work effectively as part of a collaborative team.
  • Demonstrated experience working in and fostering a diverse faculty, staff, and student environment or commitment to do so as a faculty member at VCU.
