This position is not entry-level. Candidates should possess a minimum of one year of mechanical or technical experience in a dealership or large independent shop. ASE certifications are preferred. Applicants must be capable of operating a variety of vehicles, including both automatic and manual transmissions. A valid driver’s license and a clean driving record are mandatory.
Job responsibilities will encompass inspecting, diagnosing, and identifying necessary repairs on various vehicles. Duties include performing adjustments and calibrations, replenishing fluids, disassembling and reassembling vehicle components, and repairing or replacing parts.
Independent judgment is essential for decision-making, along with documenting all work and hours according to manufacturer and company policies. Road testing vehicles to ensure quality and resolve issues is also required.
Work is conducted indoors in a shop environment, utilizing mechanic's hand and power tools that generate significant vibration and force. Standing and walking are necessary throughout the entire work shift to fulfill job responsibilities.
Physical tasks may include pushing, pulling, crouching, squatting, reaching, and kneeling frequently to access all vehicle components. Lifting and moving weights ranging from 20 to 100 pounds may be required occasionally.
