Job Overview
Fairfax County Government is seeking a highly skilled Firefighter/EMT to join our team. As a Firefighter/EMT, you will be responsible for responding to emergency calls, providing medical care, and fighting fires.

Key Responsibilities
  • Respond to emergency calls and provide medical care to patients
  • Operate fire trucks and equipment, including hoses, ladders, and rescue gear
  • Participate in fire suppression and rescue operations
  • Provide emergency medical care, including CPR and first aid
  • Conduct patient assessments and provide treatment
  • Participate in community risk reduction and outreach activities

Requirements
  • High school diploma or equivalent required
  • Certification as a Commonwealth of Virginia Emergency Medical Technician (EMT) required
  • Certification in Hazardous Materials Operations- Mission Specific required
  • Certification in Virginia Emergency Vehicle Operations Course (EVOC) required
  • Certification in cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR) Basic Life Support Provider required
  • Successful completion of Incident Command System (ICS) 100 and 700 required
