Responsibilities

  • Assist with clinical and laboratory procedures, maintain equipment, and provide direct patient care.
  • Administer common medications according to unit guidelines and providers' orders.
  • Support the documentation of patients as dictated by the physician or provider.
  • Manage patient appointments, answer messages, and handle medication refills.
  • Prepare charts, provide test results, and communicate patient information to physicians.
  • Handle phone calls, triage calls, and facilitate patient needs.
  • Provide in-service training and precept Medical Assistants.
  • Participate in developing best practices in clinical workflows.

Qualifications

  • Demonstrate the ability to support the mission, vision, and patient promise throughout all interactions.
  • Communicate effectively, written and verbally.
  • Analytical thinking is required to coordinate work within schedule constraints and handle emergent requirements.
  • Participate as an integral part of the interdisciplinary healthcare team.

Education and Certification

  • High school diploma or GED is required.
  • Graduation from a Medical Assistant program or equivalent training/experience in healthcare is preferred.
  • CPR certification is required.
