We are seeking a highly skilled Pediatric Intensive Care Unit Registered Nurse for an immediate travel nurse opportunity in Los Angeles, California.

Job Summary

As a PICU RN with Travel Nurse Across America, you will provide critical care to pediatric patients as part of a multidisciplinary medical team. You will collaborate with physicians, specialists, and patients' families to ensure coordinated care for these special patients. Our PICU Travel Nurses provide care to children and adolescents with various conditions, ranging from common childhood diseases to life-threatening illnesses.

Responsibilities
  • Monitor patients' vital signs and take corrective action when necessary.
  • Follow continuous cardiac and respiratory monitor readings, such as EKG tracings, O2 stats, CVP/arterial line waveforms, and report any observed changes.
  • Change dressings, insert catheters, start IVs (both central venous and arterial).
  • Monitor and adjust specialized equipment used on patients, such as ventilators.
  • Assist physician during examination, treatment, and procedures, which can include life-saving situations.
  • Assist with the insertion or discontinuation of CV catheters, arterial lines, external ventricular drains, Foleys, epidural catheters, and endotracheal tubes.
Requirements

This is a 13-week assignment. The ideal candidate should have 1-2 years of recent acute care experience. BLS and PALS certifications are required, and additional certifications may be necessary before beginning the assignment. A salary range of $150,000 - $200,000 per year depending on experience is estimated for this position based on industry standards and living costs in Los Angeles, CA.
