Key Responsibilities

Your primary focus will be to design and manage quality systems that promote quality enhancement within your assigned department. You will:

  • Facilitate the resolution of customer quality issues.
  • Work towards reducing lead times in problem resolution.
  • Enhance customer satisfaction and bolster the Timken brand through increased engagement.
  • Identify and monitor essential quality metrics and customer-specific requirements.
  • Develop strategies to lower costs while improving the quality and reliability of manufacturing processes.
Improvement Initiatives

You will lead various improvement activities, including:

  • Idea generation and analysis.
  • Project planning and prioritization.
  • Implementation of new technologies and practices.
Compliance and Management

Ensure adherence to customer-specific requirements, including:

  • APQP processes (FMEA, PPAP, PCPs).
  • Management of customer complaints through immediate response and monitoring of solutions.
  • Coordination of communications between Timken and customers.
Collaboration

Work closely with Supplier Quality associates to address supplier quality challenges, which may involve:

  • Supplier evaluations and visits.
  • Reviewing supplier 3Ds and 8Ds.
Qualifications

The ideal candidate will possess:

  • A strong understanding of product design, manufacturing practices, and testing criteria.
  • Proficiency in problem-solving and basic statistical analysis.
  • Effective interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Familiarity with 6-Sigma methodologies and tools.

A Bachelor’s degree in Quality, Engineering, or a related field with over 5 years of experience is preferred, or an Associate’s degree with over 10 years of relevant experience. Quality certification is a plus.
