We are seeking a highly skilled and compassionate Certified Medical Assistant to join our team at Geisinger's ConvenientCare location in Berwick, Pennsylvania. This is a per diem opportunity for a motivated individual who is dedicated to providing exceptional patient care.
Responsibilities:- Obtain and document patient information, vital signs, and medication review using the electronic medical record.
- Assist patients as needed to prepare for visits with providers, ensuring their safety and privacy.
- Provide direct patient care as directed by providers, including performing EKGs, wound dressings, and diabetic foot exams.
- Administer medications according to policy and procedure, after validation of knowledge and demonstration of competency.
- Collect and prepare laboratory specimens, complete associated paperwork accurately, and expedite laboratory studies.
- Graduate of an accredited 1-year certificate or 2-year diploma Medical Assistant program.
- Certified Medical Assistant (CMA) or Registered Medical Assist (RMA) certification required.
- Certification by one of the listed governing associations: NHA, AMT, AAMA, NAHP, NCCT, AAH, or AMCA.
