Cardiology Opportunity at the Southern Arizona VA Healthcare System
The Southern Arizona VA Healthcare System (SAVAHCS) is seeking a highly skilled Cardiologist to join our team at the VA Medical Center in Tucson, Arizona. As a Cardiologist with the SAVAHCS, you will have the opportunity to work with a talented team of healthcare professionals to provide high-quality care to our nation's heroes.
Responsibilities:
- Participate in quality improvement activities and comply with rules and regulations of the agency, facility, and department.
- Support a satisfactory process for supervision and training of fellows, residents, and medical students from the University of Arizona College of Medicine rotating through the Cardiology Division.
- Maintain American Heart Association BLS and ACLS certification.
- A commitment to compliance with VA and SAVAHCS regulatory requirements.
- Work Schedule: Full-time, Permanent, Monday - Friday, 8:00 am to 4:30 pm.
Requirements:
- United States Citizenship.
- Degree of Doctor of Medicine or an equivalent degree resulting from a course of education in medicine or osteopathic medicine.
- Current, full, and unrestricted license to practice medicine or surgery in all the US States.
- Must be Board Certified in Cardiology by the American Board of Internal Medicine - ABIM.
- Residency Training.
The SAVAHCS is a state-of-the-art network of healthcare facilities throughout Southern Arizona, providing training, primary care, and sub-specialty healthcare in numerous medical areas for eligible Veterans. We offer a beautiful 150-acre campus with a full range of medical and mental health services for Veterans, including a 31-bed inpatient psychiatry/substance use acute treatment unit, a 25-bed mental health residential rehabilitation treatment program for substance use disorders (SUD) and PTSD treatment, intensive outpatient programs for SUD and PTSD, homeless programs, and more.
