The Rehabilitation Hospital of Indiana (RHI) is a leading provider of quality rehabilitation services to individuals facing life-changing injuries or illnesses. Our specialized team offers expert care in areas such as brain injury, stroke, spinal cord injury, and complex medical conditions.

Job Summary:

The Speech-Language Pathologist (SLP) is responsible for assessing, diagnosing, and treating communication, cognitive, and swallowing disorders for an inpatient and/or outpatient population aged 15 and older, under the referral of a physician or qualified non-physician provider.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Administer SLP evaluations to inpatients and outpatients, determining appropriate treatment programs and/or equipment needs, integrating age-specific needs and issues for the physical medicine rehabilitation population.
  • Develop patient-centered treatment plans for rehabilitation patients based on evaluations, patient goals, and age-related issues/needs to optimize treatment and functional communication, cognition, and/or swallowing.
  • Accurately complete documentation in compliance with department and regulatory timelines to ensure a complete medical record that supports skilled services and appropriate medical necessity.
  • Provide clinical supervision, including coordination of care and delegation of duties, to techs and students according to state/federal regulations and hospital guidelines.

Requirements:

  • Master's Degree in Speech-Language Pathology from an accredited college or university.
  • Certificate of Clinical Competence from the American Speech, Language and Hearing Association.
  • Speech-Language Pathologist IN state license.
  • Current CPR certification in accordance with AHA standards or ability to obtain within 4 weeks of start date.
  • One (1) year of clinical experience in rehabilitation, preferred but will consider Clinical Fellowship Year candidates.
