As a Direct Support Professional Residential (PRN), you will play a pivotal role in delivering support and guidance to individuals with developmental disabilities residing in a residential setting. Your primary responsibility will be to assist residents in developing the skills and knowledge necessary to live independently and lead fulfilling lives.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Establish and maintain a positive and supportive relationship with residents, ensuring their overall well-being and safety.
  • Provide assistance and training to residents in daily living activities, including meal preparation, personal hygiene, and household chores.
  • Support residents in developing and enhancing their independent living skills.
  • Monitor and document residents' progress and behaviors, reporting any concerns or incidents to the appropriate supervisor.
  • Foster a culturally sensitive and inclusive environment that respects and values the diversity of residents and promotes their self-advocacy.
  • Ensure compliance with all regulatory requirements and standards of care governing residential facilities.

Requirements:

  • Must be 18 years of age.
  • Previous experience working with individuals with disabilities or in a residential setting is highly desirable.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to establish rapport and effectively interact with individuals from diverse backgrounds.
