Key Responsibilities
  • Accurately enter demographic, insurance, and service information into the electronic health record.
  • Process and scan insurance explanation of benefits.
  • Verify eligibility and insurance benefits through multiple systems.
  • Use various reports to access, retrieve, and validate data.
  • Download 835 electronic files from multiple clearinghouses and prepare daily deposit information.
  • Assist with preparation and submission of appeals to insurance companies.
  • Process billing medical record requests and review data for accuracy.
  • Apply client payments and file medical billing records.
  • Run reports to ensure accuracy and investigate balancing issues.
Requirements
  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • One year of medical office or accounts receivable experience required.
  • One year of recent medical billing experience preferred.
  • Strong organizational, communication, and people skills.
  • Ability to work independently and flexibly under general supervision.
