Job Title: Mental Health Therapist

We are seeking a highly skilled Mental Health Therapist to join our team at ChanceLight Behavioral Health, Therapy, & Education. As a Mental Health Therapist, you will play a critical role in helping students succeed academically, socially, and emotionally.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Provide individual and group counseling sessions to help students resolve interpersonal or family problems that interfere with school performance.
  • Conduct interviews with students, family members, and school personnel to gather information required to assess student social, emotional, and behavioral adjustment to school and the community.
  • Maintain regular contact with students' parents/guardians to inform them of student progress, areas of difficulty, and any changes or situations in home life that may affect school performance.
  • Develop and update Individualized Education Plans (IEPs) and Positive Behavior Intervention Plans (PBIPs) as needed in adherence to company, school, state, and federal regulations and procedures.
  • Collaborate with education and social services professionals to develop appropriate agency services for students and their families.
  • Provide case management functions for students, including coordination of parent meetings, emergency transportation requests, disciplinary actions, and coordination with outside therapists.
  • Collaborate with teachers, parents/guardians, district personnel, and service providers to find effective solutions to learning and behavior problems.
Requirements:
  • Master's degree or higher in educational counseling, therapy, social work, or a closely related field.
  • Meet all state and district requirements for appropriate licensing and/or credentials.
  • Accepted licenses and/or credentials include: Counselor - LMFT, Counselor - LMHC, Counselor - LPC, Counselor - LPCC, Counselor - CRC, Educational Psychologist, School Counselor, Social Worker - LCSW, Social Worker - LCSW-R, Social Worker - LMSW, Social Worker - SSW.
  • Prior experience working with individuals with severe emotional and/or behavioral disorders.
  • Prior experience and highly knowledgeable in Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT).
  • Prior experience working with students in a special education and/or classroom setting highly preferred.
