Job Summary

Emory Healthcare is seeking a skilled Diagnostic Imaging Specialist to join our team. As a Diagnostic Imaging Specialist, you will be responsible for providing high-quality patient care and performing diagnostic imaging procedures.

Key Responsibilities
  • Patient Care: Provide quality care to patients receiving ultrasound scans, diagnostic, and interventional radiology procedures.
  • Communication: Communicate patient needs and responses through appropriate verbal and written correspondence.
  • Documentation: Ensure documentation is complete and accurate regarding all aspects of patient care.
  • Equipment Operation: Properly operate imaging and specialty equipment, staying up-to-date on the uses of various medical devices.
  • Procedure Preparation: Ensure patients are prepared for procedures, verifying that rooms are adequately stocked and periodically checking inventories of emergency supplies.
  • Education and Support: Assist with patient and family education, and may support or assist in research and related activities.
  • Technical Expertise: Demonstrate an adequate knowledge of cross-sectional anatomy and physiology, providing more complex technical care necessary to meet identified patient needs.
  • Team Collaboration: Act as a resource for students and junior techs, performing related responsibilities as required.
Requirements
  • Education: Must be a graduate of an accredited school of Ultrasound.
  • Experience: Must have a minimum of two (2) years of experience, with one (1) year in US.
  • Certifications: Must be RDMS or ARRT certified. Advanced certification as a Registered Vascular Tech is preferred.
  • Additional Requirements: Basic Life Support (BLS) Certification in accordance with the American Heart Association is required.
