Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled and detail-oriented Medical Assistant to join our team at Platinum Dermatology Partners. As a Medical Assistant, you will play a vital role in providing exceptional patient care and supporting our dermatology team.

Responsibilities
  • Escort patients to and from exam rooms, ensuring a smooth and efficient experience.
  • Enter medical histories and prescriptions into our electronic medical record system with accuracy and attention to detail.
  • Assist physicians during exams and procedures, providing support and maintaining a safe and clean environment.
  • Perform extractions, injections, and other patient treatments as needed, following established protocols and guidelines.
  • Prepare and collect path/lab specimens, notify patients of results, and schedule follow-up appointments as required.
  • Educate patients and respond to their questions in a professional and compassionate manner.
  • Document all medical instructions given to patients, maintaining accurate and up-to-date records.
  • Clean and organize exam rooms, prepare procedure trays, clean and autoclave instruments, and stock supplies as needed.
Requirements
  • Minimum two years' experience in a doctor's office, with prior dermatology experience preferred.
  • Certification preferred (e.g., Certified Medical Assistant, Certified Dermatology Technician).
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to work effectively in a team environment.
  • Knowledge of medical dermatology terms, CPT, and ICD-10 coding systems.
  • Able to demonstrate compassion and caring in dealing with patients and coworkers.
  • Able to prioritize tasks, understand provider instructions, and know when to seek information or advice.
Work Environment

This position is located in a well-lighted medical office environment, with occasional evening and weekend work required. The ideal candidate will be able to work effectively in a fast-paced environment, handling multiple tasks and responsibilities with ease.

Physical Requirements

The successful candidate will possess the manual dexterity to operate office machines, including computers and calculators, as well as the ability to stoop, bend, and move around the office as needed. Includes handling of sharps and chemicals. Stress can be triggered by multiple staff demands and deadlines.
