Job Overview

GL Staffing Services Inc. is on the lookout for a Lead Manufacturing Process Engineer to enhance our team. The successful candidate will be a recognized authority in the field, primarily tasked with providing engineering support for the processes and equipment utilized in manufacturing.

The Lead Manufacturing Process Engineer will oversee the management, upkeep, troubleshooting, and repair of manufacturing machinery and systems.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Facilitates the mechanical and electrical/controls aspects for the installation, initiation, and validation of new manufacturing machinery and systems, as well as modifications to existing setups. Develops relevant Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs).
  • Oversees maintenance of process equipment (both preventative and reactive) to ensure minimal downtime. Monitors the performance of machinery, tools, and equipment, providing insights on anticipated spare part needs.
  • Collaborates with team members to troubleshoot and resolve production and quality challenges. Assists in investigations and works collectively to rectify issues that lead to non-conforming products or quality concerns.
  • Ensures safe, environmentally responsible, reliable, and cost-effective design, implementation, and operation of manufacturing systems and equipment.
  • Involved in the selection and development of equipment and systems for new processes and products, ensuring full functionality upon transfer to manufacturing. Guarantees that systems are developed and implemented safely and economically.
  • Contributes designs and support for process enhancement teams and capital projects.
  • Works in conjunction with Manufacturing, Validation, Technical Services, R&D, and other internal teams; engages with suppliers and contractors as necessary.
  • Creates testing procedures, analyzes results, and compiles findings into comprehensive reports.
  • Provides Quality Assurance support during audits and inspections.
  • Maintains compliance with SOPs, Environmental, Health, Safety, and Quality standards, as well as applicable regulations.
  • Stays updated on advancements in technologies related to the manufacturing of pharmaceuticals and dietary supplements, environmental controls, etc.
  • Advocates for safe operating and working practices, ensuring that safety devices, equipment, and personal protective gear are utilized appropriately.
  • Participates in the Safety Program to assess manufacturing safety aspects and is a member of the Emergency Response Team as per the Emergency Response Plan.
  • Other responsibilities as assigned.

ADDITIONAL FUNCTIONS:

  • Engages in internal plant audits.
  • Participates in cross-training within QA and QC responsibilities.
  • Promotes safe operating and working practices, ensuring that safety devices, equipment, and personal protective gear are utilized as required.
  • Supports process improvement teams and capital projects.

Employment Type: Full-time

Compensation: $76,000 - $78,500 annually
