Position Overview:

Summary: The primary responsibility of the CSO II is to operate within Special Access Programs (SAPs) supporting various Department of Defense (DoD) entities. This role involves providing consistent support for Collateral, Sensitive Compartmented Information (SCI), and Special Access Program (SAP) operations.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Review, prepare, and update Automated Information System (AIS) authorization documentation.
  • Inform stakeholders of any changes that may impact AIS authorization.
  • Conduct self-assessments of AIS, ensuring security coordination and evaluation of all system testing protocols.
  • Identify vulnerabilities within AIS and implement necessary countermeasures.
  • Represent the organization in various technical review and inspection committees.
  • Perform security evaluations at subordinate sites and compile relevant security documentation for system authorization packages.
  • Coordinate, prepare, and monitor AIS inspections, reports, and follow-up actions.
  • Maintain AIS security documentation and draft Co-Utilization Agreements for network nodes operating in secure environments.
  • Generate reports detailing the status of security measures applied to computer systems.
  • Ensure that AIS and network nodes are operated, maintained, and disposed of in compliance with security protocols.
  • Fulfill CSO responsibilities in support of both internal and external clients.
  • Assist DoD, National Agency, and Contractor organizations in developing assessment and authorization (A&A) initiatives.
  • Review, track, and facilitate AIS training programs.

Qualifications:

  • A minimum of four (4) years of relevant experience.
  • A Bachelor’s Degree in a related field or equivalent experience (four (4) years).
  • Must satisfy position and certification prerequisites as outlined in DoD Directive M for Information Assurance Technician Level 2 within six months of hire.

Security Clearance Requirements:

  • Current Top Secret Clearance with SCI Eligibility.
  • Eligibility for access to Special Access Programs.
  • Willingness to undergo a Counterintelligence Polygraph examination.

Skills:

  • Ability to thrive in a dynamic environment and effectively collaborate with numerous DoD, military/civilian personnel, and industry partners.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, PowerPoint, and Excel).
  • Exhibit a high level of originality, creativity, and initiative, requiring minimal supervision.
  • Familiarity with security policies/manuals and relevant DCIDs/JAFANs and other guiding documents.
  • Willingness to travel within the organizational Area of Responsibility (AOR), which may include extensive air and ground transportation.
  • Capability to lift up to 50 lbs.

Physical Requirements: This role necessitates the ability to sit, bend, reach, stoop, squat, stand, and walk.

Communication Skills: Excellent customer service skills, both via phone and in-person interactions, along with strong written and verbal proficiency in English.
