About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and dedicated Associate Teacher to join our Child Development Center team. As an Associate Teacher, you will play a vital role in providing high-quality care and education to young children, supporting their cognitive, social, and emotional development.

Key Responsibilities
  • Assist with teaching and supervising a group of children, planning and providing an appropriate classroom environment, and implementing developmentally appropriate practices.
  • Oversee classroom operations and staffing in the absence of the lead teacher, ensuring a safe and orderly environment for children and staff.
  • Communicate effectively with parents, administering assessments and screenings, and recording results to track children's growth and development.
  • Contribute to planning and preparation of lesson plans, adapting curriculum to meet the needs of children with disabilities, and implementing intervention practices based on individualized goals.
  • Work collaboratively with lab instructors, providing modeling and support for college lab students training in the classroom, and participating in staff meetings and training activities.
Requirements
  • 24 units of ECE/CD + 16 units of GE; plus 2 adult supervision units and 3 units in Infant and Toddler Development within the first year of employment.
  • Must possess or be eligible for a Teacher Permit.
  • Sensitivity to and understanding of the diverse academic, socioeconomic, cultural, disability, gender identity, sexual orientation, and ethnic backgrounds of community college students.
