The Access Control Officer plays a crucial role in ensuring the safety and security of facilities owned or leased by the organization. This position is dedicated to conducting thorough access control screening for both personnel and visitors. It is important to note that Access Control Officers do not possess law enforcement authority and are not empowered to make arrests.
Key Responsibilities- Adhere to all organizational personnel and safety protocols while executing assigned tasks in a secure manner.
- Report to work in the designated uniform, equipped with all necessary gear.
- Maintain the cleanliness and proper condition of uniforms and assigned equipment.
- Execute general and specific directives for the designated area.
- Communicate effectively using radio, telephone, and verbal methods as instructed.
- Manage access to facilities, safeguard equipment and materials, and conduct both interior and exterior security inspections as required.
- Engage with the public and government representatives as necessary, providing assistance and escorting as needed.
- Professionally interact with employees, distinguished guests, and the general public.
- Exhibit composure and self-discipline in high-pressure situations.
- Assist medical, fire, law enforcement, and other personnel as directed by supervisors.
- Draft clear, concise, and accurate reports in English.
- Read, comprehend, and apply printed guidelines, detailed instructions, and training materials in English.
- Be available to work flexible hours, including weekends and holidays.
- Perform additional duties as assigned.
- Prior experience in access control is preferred.
- In accordance with federal regulations, all candidates must verify their identity and eligibility to work in the United States upon hiring.
- A minimum of a High School Diploma or GED is required.
- Candidates must be at least 21 years old.
- Experience in military, civilian, or security roles is preferred.
- Completion of all necessary training and possession of required permits, licenses, certifications, and security clearances for the site is essential.
- A valid state driver's license must be maintained.
- Applicants must have no history of illegal drug use, sale, possession, or manufacture within the past five years.
