Pacific Clinics English Language Coach Role

Pacific Clinics is a leading provider of behavioral and mental health services and support in California. As an English Language Coach, you will be part of a team of over 2,000 employees who speak 22 languages and are dedicated to offering hope and unlocking the full potential of individuals and families.

The English Language Coach provides academic coaching and mentorship to students enrolled in courses offered at the Recovery Education Institute (REI). This role involves providing strength-based peer-to-peer support and/or self-help services to students, and encouraging them to work with the REI Academic Advisors to set and achieve their educational and vocational goals.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Collaborate with the REI team to develop policies and procedures concerning lived experience, wellness and recovery.
  • Deliver student evaluation surveys, gather evaluation data and measure outcomes.
  • Collaborate with REI academic advisors and faculty members to encourage students to act as self-advocates for researching and accessing educational opportunities within their communities.
  • Conduct student recruitment, registration, and retention efforts.
  • Conduct class/workshop orientations for new and continuing students.
  • Link students to community resources, peer-focused and peer-run supportive services/programs.
  • Coach and assist students to effectively communicate and address their questions and/or concerns with REI's leadership, academic advisors, faculty instructor and faculty adjunct members as needed.
  • Deliver pre-approved high-quality educational and employment readiness curriculum trainings to students.
  • Contribute to program and training curriculum development related to recovery and peer-focused services.
  • Regularly attend staff meetings, participate in community outreach and promote REI's program services in the community.
  • Adhere to all agency and program policies and procedures.
  • Maintain compliance standards in accordance with HIPAA, State, County and organizational guidelines to ensure client confidentiality, protected health information (PHI) and quality of care.
  • Maintain appropriate standards of professional conduct and ethics in accordance with Pacific Clinics policies and procedures.
  • Model Pacific Clinics' approach, mission, and core values in all communication and correspondence.
  • Proficiency in digital literacy.

This role requires a flexible work schedule, including occasional evenings, weekends and holidays. A Class C driver's license, daily access to a car and proof of valid automobile insurance are also required.
