Role Description:
The ideal candidate will possess a comprehensive background in litigation, without the necessity of specializing in a particular area. A strong understanding of bluebooking and cite checking briefs, along with the ability to create a Table of Authorities, is essential.
Applicants should have a minimum of five years of experience and will be tasked with overseeing all aspects of trial preparation and execution. Responsibilities include managing a trial team from start to finish, conducting legal research, filing documents, and participating as part of the onsite team.
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop and implement comprehensive litigation case management systems, including both electronic and physical file management, case scheduling, discovery tasks, and trial preparations.
- Maintain and organize pleadings and discovery indexes.
- Support attorneys with document reviews, including the setup and coordination of hot document binders and preparation of privilege logs.
- Assist in the preparation of court filings for both state and federal courts, coordinating service copies and document delivery.
- Draft and review standard legal documents as requested by attorneys.
- Conduct legal research and precedent checks under attorney supervision.
- Foster effective working relationships to promote a positive workplace environment.
- Perform additional duties as assigned.
Qualifications:
- Minimum of four years of experience as a litigation paralegal.
- Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience in a relevant field.
- Strong proficiency in bluebooking and cite checking, as well as the creation of Tables of Authorities using Best Authority.
- Knowledge of e-filing procedures with state and federal courts.
- Experience in liaising with external entities such as courts, government agencies, and expert witnesses.
- Completion of an accredited paralegal program or ability to provide attorney attestation.
- Familiarity with all phases of litigation, including intake, discovery, and trial.
- Experience coordinating logistics for trials, arbitrations, and mediations.
- Proficient in using Relativity document hosting databases.
