We are seeking an experienced Maintenance Mechanic to join our team at Elgen Staffing. As a key member of our operations team, you will be responsible for performing preventative maintenance activities and equipment repair in a manufacturing setting.
Key Responsibilities:- Inspect, operate, or test machinery or equipment to diagnose machine malfunctions.
- Dismantle machines, equipment, or devices to access and remove defective parts, using hoists, cranes, hand tools, or power tools.
- Perform routine maintenance, such as inspecting drives, motors, or belts, checking fluid levels, replacing filters, or doing other preventive maintenance actions.
- Diagnose mechanical problems and determine how to correct them, checking blueprints, repair manuals, or parts catalogs, as necessary.
- Electrical repairs to include trouble shooting. Repairs dealing with high and low voltage.
- Repair machines, equipment, or structures, using tools such as hammers, hoists, saws, drills, wrenches, or equipment such as precision measuring instruments or electrical or electronic testing devices.
- Adjust functional parts of devices or control instruments, using hand tools, levels, plumb bobs, or straightedges.
- Plan and lay out repair work, using diagrams, drawings, blueprints, maintenance manuals, or schematic diagrams.
- Inspect used parts to determine changes in dimensional requirements, using rules, calipers, micrometers, or other measuring instruments.
- High School Diploma or GED required
- Minimum 5 years as a maintenance mechanic for second shift, 15 years experience for first shift
- Steel stamping and forming- a plus
- Mechanical, electrical, pneumatic experience
- Experience in a trade school is a plus
- Ability to lift and handle 50 pounds for certain positions
- Ability to troubleshoot and resolve issues
