We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Software Development Engineer in Test to join our team at Delta Air Lines, Inc. This role will play a critical part in our journey of transformation, helping us build innovative solutions and deliver high-quality products.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Design, develop, and maintain software to test large-scale, custom hardware multi-platform software products and applications.
  • Develop and maintain automation frameworks to ensure efficient testing.
  • Define automation strategy, cases, and tools for unit, functional, and performance testing.
  • Participate in design and code inspections to ensure high-quality work.
  • Propose improvements to existing processes and build automated tools to enhance team efficiency.
  • Work with various technologies, from front-end UI to back-end distributed web services.
  • Own the design and implementation of tests to ensure end-to-end quality of major deliverables.
  • Integrate tests and infrastructure automation into the CI/CD pipeline.
Requirements:
  • 5+ years of experience in Information Technology with expertise in test automation.
  • Experience writing, maintaining automated UI and APIs tests using various open-source testing libraries.
  • Experience working with AWS cloud services, such as EC2, s3 bucket, AWS code pipeline, and CloudFormation.
  • Hands-on experience designing, developing, and maintaining automation frameworks.
  • Experience with OOPs languages like Java, C#, and scripting languages like Python, Perl, Shell, and Bash.
  • Experience with API and Microservices testing and automation.
  • Knowledge of Test Driven Development (TDD), Behavior Driven Development (BDD), and testing frameworks like Cucumber or JBehave.
  • Experience with querying languages like SQL, Oracle, MySQL, and NoSQL databases.
  • Experience deploying applications in AWS or OpenShift (Kubernetes).
  • Experience automating backend REST services using tools like Postman, REST Assured, Karate, Cypress, and Ready API.
  • Hands-on experience building test automation frameworks from scratch using modular frameworks and design patterns like Page Object Model.
  • Experience working in distributed agile teams using agile frameworks like SCRUM, SAFe, and XP.
  • Knowledge of continuous integration tools like Jenkins or Circle CI.
  • Able to independently create and maintain automation test jobs with tools like Jenkins.
  • Experience working with source code management tools like GitLab, GitHub, AWS Code Commit, and creating test reports from automation test runs.
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Prior travel industry experience.
  • Infrastructure automation using Docker and tools like Chef, Puppet, and Terraform.
  • Experience virtualizing services for test automation using tools like Wire Mock and Mockito.
  • Experience with test management and agile management tools like VersionOne and qTest.
  • Experience with non-functional testing like performance, load, stress, security, accessibility, and usability testing.
