We are seeking a dedicated Structural Engineer to join our team of industry experts. In this role, you will be responsible for:

Key Responsibilities:
  • Conducting analysis and developing project designs, calculations, and drawings for various structures including steel bridges, pre-cast and pre-stressed concrete bridges, and flat slabs, with guidance as necessary. You will also prepare engineering reports and contract documents for review.
  • Engaging in complex projects involving skewed and curved steel I and U girder bridges, post-tensioned concrete bridges, and unique bridge types, including construction engineering and seismic design.
  • Possibly serving as the Engineer-of-Record for specific engineering tasks and leading teams of technicians and designers to ensure project delivery through effective supervision of design and plan production.
  • Approaching challenges with creativity; proposing innovative solutions to design issues; demonstrating a problem-solving mindset with the ability to conduct independent research as well as collaborate with a team.
  • Presenting proposed design solutions during internal project meetings to engage leadership and gather feedback to enhance project quality and progress.
  • Managing the timely completion of multiple assigned tasks while adhering to budget constraints.
  • Communicating effectively with team members, internal design groups, and external stakeholders, including clients and government agencies.
  • Participating in company marketing initiatives by providing timely updates to your personal resume and engaging in proposal efforts.
  • Taking charge of your technical and career development by seeking feedback, pursuing opportunities to learn new skills, and setting personal goals.
  • Mentoring and contributing to the growth of fellow team members through positive role modeling.

Essential Skills:

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to engage effectively with internal and external teams.
  • Strong foundation in Structural Analysis, Design, and Mechanics.
  • Proficiency in CAD software, preferably MicroStation or AutoCAD.
  • Familiarity with bridge design software such as GDOT Mathcad Package, Bentley OpenBridge Designer, and others.
  • Experience with Finite Element Analysis and bridge analysis software like CsiBridge and Midas Civil.
  • Proficient in Excel and/or Mathcad.
  • Understanding of AASHTO LRFD bridge design specifications.
  • Knowledge of GDOT Bridge and Structures Design Manual.
  • Awareness of construction methods and equipment.
  • Understanding of Seismic Design principles for bridges.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering.
  • Master's degree in Structural Engineering is advantageous.
  • Professional Engineer (PE) certification.
  • Minimum of 4 years of relevant experience.
