Job Summary

We are seeking a skilled Nursing Assistant to join our team at the Center for Orthopedics. As a member of our healthcare team, you will provide exceptional patient care and maintain a safe and clean environment under the direction of a Registered Nurse.

Responsibilities

* Assist patients with daily living activities, such as bathing, dressing, and grooming
* Provide emotional support and comfort to patients and their families
* Maintain accurate and detailed records of patient care and treatment
* Collaborate with the healthcare team to develop and implement individualized care plans

Requirements

* High School graduate or equivalent required
* Satisfactory completion of a recognized formal program for nursing assistant/health care assistant preferred
* BLS certification required
* Pennsylvania state police criminal record check, child abuse history clearance, and FBI criminal history check required

Working Conditions

* Potential exposure to infectious diseases, toxic waste, and irritants (80%)
* Potential exposure to chemicals and solvents (80%)
* Involves direct close patient contact (80%)
* Frequent interruption, crowded conditions, or excessive noise (80%)
* Potential radiation, laser beam, and UV light exposure (35%)
* Work with heavier capacities using mechanical lifts (65%)
* Manual and finger dexterity to operate computer and equipment (100%)
* Maneuvering and positioning patients up to 300 lbs (65%)
* Pushing/pulling wheelchairs, stretchers, and equipment up to 50 lbs (30%)
* Must be able to see/hear or use prosthetics (100%)
* Frequently required/prolonged sitting, standing, or walking (65%)
* Stand, bend, lift, and grab/clean necessary items/instruments (65%)
* Walking, standing, and lifting of materials/equipment up to 60 lbs (65%)
