Job Summary:
Gundersen Health System is seeking a highly skilled and certified athletic trainer to join our sports medicine team. As an athletic trainer, you will play a critical role in providing high-quality patient care and support to athletes and patients of all ages.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide prevention, clinical evaluation, immediate care, treatment, rehabilitation, and education to patients with injuries or illnesses.
- Work with institutions, organizations, and medical staff to provide athletic training services to athletes and patients.
- Support clinicians in the clinic and provide pre-operative therapy programs, home therapy programs, and casting, splinting, and brace fitting services.
- Perform pre-visit planning, adhere to regular and predictable attendance, and ensure patient safety.
- Collaborate with physical therapists to provide appropriate care to patients.
Requirements:
- Board Certified Athletic Trainer (ATC) by the National Athletic Trainers' Association (NATA-BOC)
- Licensed Athletic Trainer - Wisconsin (LAT) and additional state licenses as required
- Current Infant-Adult Basic Life Support for Health Care Providers certification
- Bachelor's degree in Athletic Training or Sports Medicine or a related field
- Desirable: Master's degree in Athletic Training or Sports Medicine or a related field, 1 year of experience in a high school or clinical setting, and experience with casting, splinting, and bracing techniques and applications
