Qualifications
  • A strong passion for mathematics and student engagement - Candidates must demonstrate proficiency in mathematics at least through Algebra 1, with preference given to those capable of higher-level math (Geometry, Algebra II, Trigonometry, Pre-calculus).
  • Excellent interpersonal abilities - Candidates should be engaging and capable of inspiring students, creating an enjoyable learning atmosphere, and exhibiting enthusiasm for teaching mathematics.
  • Willingness to learn and receive training - New hires must complete 15-20 hours of training within the first month.
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks - Instructors will work with several students on different topics simultaneously, requiring effective multitasking and documentation of student progress.
  • Professional demeanor and communication skills - Instructors must interact with parents, students, and colleagues in a friendly and professional manner, establishing trust and value within the Mathnasium community.
  • Availability to work a minimum of 6-10 hours across at least two shifts during the week and weekend, with potential for 20-25 hours in some cases.
Responsibilities
  • Implement the Mathnasium Method and teaching strategies
  • Maintain good availability for work and provide timely updates regarding scheduling
  • Continuously strive for excellence as an instructor
  • Demonstrate retention of training and meeting content
  • Attend staff meetings approximately every 4-6 weeks
  • Teach students in a manner that resonates with them
  • Provide encouragement and constructive feedback
  • Support administrative tasks and maintain cleanliness and order within the center
Hours of Operation

Instruction is typically available during the following hours:

  • Monday - Thursday from 3 PM - 8 PM
  • Saturday from 10 AM - 2 PM (some locations)
  • Sunday from 1 PM - 6 PM

All applicants will be required to demonstrate math proficiency through a literacy test, provide work authorization, and pass a background check.
