JOB SUMMARY

The Pipefitting Specialist will be responsible for the layout, assembly, installation, and maintenance of piping systems, supports, and associated hydraulic or pneumatic equipment within a fabrication environment. This role is essential for ensuring the efficient operation of systems used for steam, hot water, heating, cooling, lubricating, sprinkling, or industrial production processes.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

• Utilize tools such as saws, cutting torches, pipe threaders, and pipe benders to cut, thread, or shape pipes according to specifications.
• Create detailed full-scale drawings of piping systems and supports based on provided blueprints.
• Assemble and secure pipes, tubes, fittings, and related equipment by employing techniques such as welding, brazing, cementing, soldering, or threading joints.
• Measure and mark pipes accurately for cutting or threading purposes.
• Conduct inspections and tests on installed systems or pipelines using pressure gauges, hydrostatic testing, and other evaluation methods.
• Affix pipes to structures using brackets, clamps, and hangers with hand and power tools.
• Perform routine maintenance and safety inspections to ensure operational integrity.
• Adhere to all safety protocols and promote a culture of safety within the organization.
• Carry out additional responsibilities as assigned by management.

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS

• High School Diploma or GED or equivalent work experience.
• A minimum of 3 to 5 years of experience in pipefitting.
• Certification from NCCER as a pipefitter is required.
• Successful completion of a hands-on assessment is mandatory.

• Repetitive motion capabilities involving feet, legs, wrists, hands, and fingers.
• Physical ability to lift objects weighing up to 50 pounds and carry at least 30 pounds.
• Frequent walking on uneven surfaces, including natural ground in diverse weather conditions.
