Job Overview

Otterbein SeniorLife is seeking a skilled Lead Cook to participate in the preparation, cooking, and serving of food items to residents, guests, and partners in a fast-paced kitchen environment.

The ideal candidate will have 2-5 years of cooking experience in a Long-Term Care (LTC) or similar setting, with a high school diploma or GED preferred.

Responsibilities
  • Estimate food requirements and procure ingredients from storage.
  • Prepare and cook food according to company standards, using a variety of kitchen utensils and equipment.
  • Measure and mix ingredients according to recipes, adding seasoning as needed.
  • Observe and test food for proper doneness, carving meats and portioning food as required.
  • Maintain sanitation and orderliness of the kitchen, coordinating work with other food service employees.
  • Select and develop recipes as needed, cutting, trimming, and boning meats and poultry for cooking.
