Job Summary

Raleigh General Hospital is seeking a skilled Physical Therapy Assistant to join our team on a temporary basis. As a Physical Therapy Assistant, you will work under the direction of our physical therapists to provide rehabilitative treatment to patients referred for physical therapy.

Key Responsibilities
  • Administer active and passive manual therapeutic exercises in a competent, professional, and ethical manner.
  • Provide direct and indirect supervision for all assigned patients during their scheduled appointments.
  • Help with the orientation of new Physical Therapist Assistants and direct and give instructions to Physical Therapy Aides assisting with patient care.
  • Demonstrate a working knowledge of the Meditech system.
  • Display an interest in the department and a consistent focus on self-improvement.
  • Maintain current CPR certification.
  • Provide basic and emergency first aid for injured athletes, as per appropriate RGH injury protocols.
  • Maintain a positive attitude in daily interactions with patients, visitors, and coworkers.
  • Follow work schedule and report to work as assigned.
  • Maintain work area in a clean, organized manner.
  • Maintain equipment and supplies in proper order.
  • Demonstrate the ability to actively listen to everyone.
Requirements
  • High school diploma or equivalent required.
  • Associate's degree required.
  • Certifications:
    • Basic Life Support (BLS) - to be obtained within 30 days.
  • Required Licenses:
    • Must possess licensure to practice as a Physical Therapist Assistant in the state of WV and must be maintained in good standing.
  • Minimum Work Experience:
    • Experience in the outpatient and acute care settings as a staff physical therapy assistant preferred.
