Essential Job Functions:
  1. Performs CT examinations requiring a sound understanding of anatomical positioning, CT protocols, and equipment to produce optimum results.
  2. Follows departmental protocol for procedures unless specified otherwise by the Radiologist.
  3. Produces quality diagnostic images for interpretation.
  4. Assumes accountability for managing delivery of care and patient safety.
  5. Communicates with attending Radiologist and verifies provider orders.
  6. Obtains and documents patient history and relevant information.
  7. Ensures CT room's cleanliness after exam and procedure, adhering to infection control standards specific to patient care.
  8. Prioritizes and organizes work assignments and adjusts priorities based on changing situations.
  9. Prepares patient for procedures, providing instructions to obtain desired results, gain cooperation, and minimize anxiety.
  10. Operates CT and medical imaging equipment properly and safely.
  11. Demonstrates awareness of Radiation Safety procedures for self and others.
  12. Prepares and assists in the administration of contrast materials.
General Job Functions:
  1. Demonstrates knowledge and compliance of safety, OSHA, and HIPPA regulations.
  2. The ability to perform daily, monthly, semi-annual, and annual Quality Control.
  3. The ability to use problem-solving, critical thinking, and priority-setting skills.
  4. Strong interpersonal and communication skills are required.
  5. Attend department meetings.
  6. Other job duties as required.
Education, Certification, Computer, and Training Requirements:
  1. 1-3 years' experience required.
  2. Graduated from an accredited Radiology program.
  3. Licensed by NJ State DEP.
  4. Registered by the American Registry of Radiologic Technologies.
  5. BLS certification is required. IV certified preferred.
  6. Maintain current knowledge of RIS and PACS computer systems.
  7. The ability to communicate in English, both orally and in writing, is required.
  8. Advanced computer skills, including email, Microsoft applications, and the ability to comprehend and utilize Electronic Medical Record System, RIS, and PACS Systems.
