Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Project Engineer to join our team at Heidelberg Materials US, Inc. in Duluth, Georgia. As a Project Engineer, you will be responsible for leading engineering resources within Georgia, providing engineering design, project management, and construction management support to our crushed stone, sand/gravel, Concrete, and Asphalt operations.

Key Responsibilities
  • Develop conceptual and final plans, estimates, and schedules for capital projects.
  • Direct and coordinate the engineering, general plant arrangements, procurement, construction, and start-up of assigned capital projects.
  • Prepare regular and timely progress and cost reports during the project and manage the entire project process.
  • Manage outside engineering, fabrication, and construction contractors.
  • Meet the needs of the region through your own work, coordination with Regional and Global teams, and using contractors.
  • Communicate the progress to all stakeholders, including the provision of SteCo minutes and monthly reports to Regional teams.
Requirements
  • Bachelor of Science Degree in Civil, Mechanical, or Mining Engineering preferred but will consider other disciplines with equivalent relevant experience.
  • At least 5 years' experience in engineering/construction, preferably in the Aggregate Industry.
  • Strong knowledge and hands-on experience of crushed stone and sand/gravel processing plants, RMC plants, Asphalt Plants, crushing and sizing equipment, wet processing, water handling equipment, water recovery equipment, conveyor haulage systems, and dust control systems.
  • Proficiency with AutoCAD, AggFlow, and Microsoft Office software including Excel, Word, Power Point, and Project.
  • Excellent personnel skills and the ability to communicate effectively with all levels of internal and external customers and contractors both verbally and in writing.
