The Warehouse Operator is responsible for receiving, storing, and distributing materials, tools, and products in the warehouse. This position ensures accuracy and timeliness in all warehouse tasks, maintaining a safe and organized work environment.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Assists shipping and receiving unloading trucks, checking in merchandise, matching purchase orders to sales orders and distributing to sales associates for processing.
  • Reviews work orders, shipping orders or requisitions to determine items to be moved, gathered or distributed and/or shipped
  • Moves materials and items from receiving or storage areas to shipping or to other designated areas.
  • Sorts and places materials or items on racks, shelves or in bins according to predetermined sequence such as size, type, style, or product code.
  • Files requisitions, work orders or requests for materials, tools or other stock items and distribute items to shipping or to designated route driver storage area.
  • Marks materials with identifying information using appropriate method.
  • Records amounts of materials or items received or distributed via appropriate computer program.
  • Assists in counting of physical inventory.
  • Weighs and counts items for distribution within plant to ensure conformance to company standards.
  • Assist with facilities maintenance duties as needed.
  • Prepares parcels for mailing.
  • Maintain warehouse and work area ensuring safety and organization at all times.
  • Wears the proper safety equipment.
  • Other duties as may be assigned by management

Requirements:

  • High school diploma or GED, or equivalent years of experience.
  • Previous experience in warehouse shipping and receiving
  • Must be able to regularly lift and/or move objects up to 10 lbs, frequently lift and/or move objects up to 50 lbs, and occasionally lift and/or move objects that weigh more than 100lbs.
  • Knowledge of MS Office
  • Strong mathematical skills

Physical Demands:

  • The employee is frequently required to stand; use hands to finger, handle or feel objects, tools, keyboards or controls; reach with hands and arms; and talk or hear
  • The employee is occasionally required to walk frequently, sit; and may also be required to stoop, kneel, crouch or crawl The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds
  • Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, depth perception and the ability to adjust focus
