Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Orchestra Program Director to lead our districtwide orchestra program. The successful candidate will be responsible for directing and managing the overall orchestra program, preparing students for individual and group performances, and ensuring compliance with state and district requirements.

Key Responsibilities
  • Program Development and Implementation: Develop and implement a comprehensive orchestra program that meets the needs of students and aligns with district goals.
  • Student Performance and Progress: Prepare students for individual and group performances, including concerts and other events.
  • Program Evaluation and Improvement: Conduct ongoing assessments of student achievement and program effectiveness, and make data-driven decisions to improve the program.
  • Communication and Collaboration: Establish and maintain open communication with students, parents, teachers, and administrators to ensure a collaborative and supportive learning environment.
  • Budgeting and Resource Management: Develop and manage budgets and resources to ensure the effective operation of the orchestra program.
  • Professional Development: Stay current with best practices in music education and participate in professional development opportunities to enhance teaching skills and knowledge.
Requirements
  • Education: Bachelor's degree from an accredited university.
  • Certification: Valid Texas teacher certificate with required endorsements for subject and subject level assigned.
  • Experience: Experience working in an urban school district and demonstrated ability to teach students with multiple learning styles and abilities.
  • Skills: Strong communication, public relations, and interpersonal skills, as well as knowledge of state and local policies governing orchestra programs.
Work Environment

The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate. Travel throughout the district is integral to this job. A remote working environment/alternate work arrangement is not an option for campus-based employees/campus-based positions because regular and punctual attendance at the worksite and performing all duties at the worksite are essential job duties for all campus-based personnel.
