Position Overview:
Job Summary

Responsible for collecting shopping carts from the parking area. Provides consistent, friendly, and courteous service to both internal and external customers. Engages in additional related tasks as required.

Typical Duties and Responsibilities

Seeks opportunities to greet, engage, assist, and express gratitude to customers. Maintains a friendly and enthusiastic service atmosphere with a focus on customer care.

Collects carts manually and utilizes a remote-controlled cart pusher, guiding, assembling, and retrieving stray carts as necessary.

Removes litter from the premises, including planters and cart storage areas.

Retrieves stray carts located within the store.

Empties recycling machine containers into designated bins (glass, aluminum, plastic).

Organizes and stacks bins for collection.

Performs other assigned duties as needed.

Requirements

Essential Skills:
Consistently deliver friendly and courteous service to customers.


Availability to work varied hours primarily between 7:00 am and 11:00 pm in a 24/7 operation, including nights, weekends, and holidays.

Ability to walk, push, pull, and maneuver grocery carts weighing up to 100 lbs. on occasion.

Reach forward and bend to retrieve items from ground level.

Stand, walk, and move quickly for extended periods.

Work outdoors in varying weather conditions, including cold, heat, and inclement weather.

Maintain awareness of surroundings for safety in the parking area.

Identify carts that need to be collected.

Exhibit strong customer service skills.

Learn and adhere to safety and departmental policies and procedures.

Respond to audible requests (e.g., pages, customer inquiries).

Ability to lift up to 40 lbs. frequently from floor to 6 ft. high.

Ability to maneuver up to 100 lbs. occasionally.

Wear a reflective vest while working outdoors.

Must be at least 16 years of age.

Perform primary duties efficiently and accurately.

Additional Qualifications:
Food Handlers Certification (as per state regulations)

Equipment Operated:
Cart Mover and associated remote control system.

Manual Pallet Jack.
