Job Summary:

SSM Health is seeking a skilled Radiology Technologist to join our team at Cardinal Glennon Children's Hospital. As a Radiology Technologist, you will be responsible for taking x-rays of designated parts of the human body for diagnostic purposes and providing support for the imaging department.

Responsibilities:
  • Explains procedures to patients to ensure understanding and provides appropriate educational material.
  • Transports patients to and from clinical areas and verifies patient identity according to policies and procedures.
  • Prepares patients for radiology exams by positioning them for the procedure.
  • Follows radiation safety procedures and guidelines to prevent patient exposure to unnecessary radiation.
  • Prepares and administers contrast media and medications within the accepted scope of practice and applicable state and federal regulations.
  • Observes patients during procedures and reports abnormal activity.
  • Ensures prompt submission of high-quality images and documents sent to PACS.
  • Maintains a clean and orderly department, including procedure rooms, storage areas, dressing rooms, and other areas.
  • May perform limited CT procedures in emergent situations when a CT Technologist is not on site.
Requirements:
  • Completion of a radiology certification program.
  • 1 year's experience preferred but new grads welcome.
  • Basic Life Support Healthcare Provider (BLS HCP) - American Heart Association (AHA).
  • ARRT-R Radiography - American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT).
