The City of New York is seeking a highly skilled GIS Data Scientist to join its team. As a key member of the Department of Environmental Protection, you will be responsible for building efficient, machine learning-driven predictive models using spatial data to forecast trends and outcomes within an ESRI geospatial platform.

The ideal candidate will have a strong background in statistics and programming, with the ability to confidently assess, analyze, and organize large amounts of data. You will be responsible for developing interactive dashboards for real-time monitoring and reporting of spatial data and analyses as required by Bureau Management.

Additional responsibilities include:

  • Documentation of programming instructions, methodologies, data sources, and procedural manuals
  • Preparation and participation with product presentations

The successful candidate will have a strong understanding of GIS structures, spatial analysis, and mapping principles, as well as experience with Python scripting and ESRI geospatial platforms.
