Position: Physical Therapist

Overview:

The Physical Therapist (PT) is responsible for assessing and treating patients of all ages who experience medical issues or health-related conditions that hinder their mobility and ability to perform daily activities.

PTs conduct thorough evaluations and create tailored treatment plans aimed at enhancing mobility, alleviating pain, restoring functionality, and preventing disabilities.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Assess and manage movement disorders while improving physical and functional capabilities.
  • Promote optimal physical function, wellness, fitness, and quality of life concerning movement and health.
  • Implement treatment strategies to avert the onset, symptoms, and progression of impairments, functional limitations, and disabilities arising from various health conditions or injuries.
  • Engage in comprehensive evaluations by gathering patient histories, reviewing cases, and performing tests to identify existing and potential issues.
  • Provide ongoing care through intervention strategies, conducting follow-up assessments, adjusting treatment plans as necessary to meet objectives, and formulating discharge plans.
  • Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams, including physicians, nurses, educators, case managers, and insurance representatives, to ensure comprehensive patient care and family education.
Additional Responsibilities:
  • Compile and document relevant information and prepare reports.
  • Maintain accurate patient records.
  • Participate in professional development and educational activities.
  • Perform other related duties as assigned.
Qualifications:
Education:
Must have graduated from an accredited Physical Therapy program.

Experience:
Demonstrated proficiency in provided services is required, with a minimum of one year of experience in a healthcare environment.

Licenses and Certifications:
Must hold a valid license to practice as a Physical Therapist in the State of Tennessee.

Physical Requirements:
The PT may need to handle light to heavy materials or patients during therapy sessions.

Physical demands exceeding 25 pounds necessitate knowledge of appropriate equipment and proper body mechanics and lifting techniques. Frequent kneeling, squatting, bending, and stooping may be required.
