Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Principal Drive Integration Engineer to join our team at Western Digital. As a key member of our HDD Program Management Team, you will play a critical role in planning and defining development phases, product requirements, and product features.

Key Responsibilities
  • Work closely with the HDD Program Management Team to plan and coordinate new technology staging/prototyping and new product development.
  • Lead teams of various disciplines to collaborate in developing the Manufacturing Test Process and finalize for transfer to production.
  • Develop the Manufacturing Test Process and implement product features.
  • Work closely with subsystem teams (Electronics, Firmware, Servo/Mechanical, HDI. Failure Analysis) to coordinate strategy to meet manufacturing test milestones, analyze and resolve issues identified during system integration, and identify root cause of HDD failures and implement corrective actions.
  • Drive Yield Roadmap and improvements.
  • Identify and interpret data collection requirements, train factory teams, and complete technical transfer.
Requirements
  • Bachelor's Degree or Higher in Electronics, Engineering, or Physical Sciences, Physics, or related field.
  • At least 6 years of engineering experience in the Electrical or Electronics Industry.
  • Ability to handle more than one project at a time.
  • Experience with Data Extraction, Data Analysis, and Statistics.
  • Familiarity with Programming and Tool Development using TCL, Python, C, C++.
  • Exceptional Communication and Presentation abilities.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office applications.
  • Knowledge of both Windows & Linux operating systems.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Having experience in Hard Drive Technology would be an advantage.
