Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled and dedicated Occupational Therapist to join our team at Soliant in providing exceptional services to students in our district. As a School-Based Occupational Therapist, you will play a vital role in supporting students' development and independence by assessing and addressing their unique needs related to fine motor skills, sensory processing, self-care, and school participation.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Conduct Comprehensive Assessments: Conduct thorough assessments to identify students' strengths and challenges related to fine motor skills, sensory processing, and activities of daily living.
  • Develop Individualized Treatment Plans: Create personalized treatment plans and evidence-based interventions to help students achieve their educational goals and participate fully in classroom activities.
  • Collaborate with Educational Professionals: Work closely with teachers, parents, and other educational professionals to implement strategies that support students' success in the school environment.
  • Provide Direct Therapy Sessions: Offer direct one-on-one or group therapy sessions based on students' needs and goals, utilizing creative and engaging activities to enhance learning and skill development.
  • Maintain Accurate Records: Keep accurate and timely records of student progress, assessments, and therapy sessions.
  • Advise and Educate: Advise and educate school staff, parents, and caregivers on techniques and modifications to support students' occupational therapy goals in various settings.
  • Stay Current with Best Practices: Stay up-to-date with the latest advancements in the field of occupational therapy and participate in professional development opportunities.
Requirements:
  • Masters Degree in Occupational Therapy: Possess a Master's degree in occupational therapy.
  • Active State Licensure: Hold active state licensure or eligibility for licensure as an Occupational Therapist.
  • Previous Experience: Have previous experience working with children and adolescents, preferably in a school-based or pediatric setting.
  • Strong Interpersonal Skills: Possess strong interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with a multidisciplinary team.
  • Adaptability: Be able to adapt therapy techniques to meet the diverse needs of individual students.
  • Commitment to Evidence-Based Practice: Demonstrate a commitment to evidence-based practice and ongoing professional development.
  • Compassionate Approach: Possess a compassionate and patient-centered approach to working with students and their families.
