Position: Nuclear Medicine Technologist

Shift: Daytime, 7:00 AM - 3:30 PM

Holiday/Weekend Commitment: Every third Saturday; rotation for holidays

On-Call Duty:
  • On-call responsibilities - compensation details to be discussed during the interview
Core Responsibilities:
  • Execute imaging processes utilizing gamma camera technology.
  • Administer radioisotopes for diagnostic purposes while ensuring patient safety.
  • Coordinate patient scheduling, procure radionuclides, and oversee radioactive material shipments.
  • Conduct quality assurance checks on equipment and perform quarterly inventories of sealed sources.
  • Validate orders, record clinical data, and prepare examination rooms.
  • Administer oral and intravenous radionuclides, evaluate patient conditions, and secure informed consent.
  • Transport patients and manage exam/supply billing.
  • Uphold a clean and secure working environment, complying with state nuclear safety regulations.
  • Support the healthcare facility's mission and vision while demonstrating proficiency in caring for patients across all age groups.
Essential Qualifications:
Licensure:
  • Valid license from the Illinois Department of Nuclear Safety in Nuclear Medicine.

Experience:
  • Specialized education in Nuclear Medicine; ARRT certification in Radiography is preferred.

Certification:
  • Required certification from the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT) in Nuclear Medicine or CNMT. BLS certification is also necessary.

Educational Background:
  • Associate's or Bachelor's degree in Radiologic Technology or Nuclear Medicine Technology, along with 6-12 months of relevant experience.
Unit Information:
  • Patient demographic: Neonates to Geriatric
  • Facility size: 100 beds
  • Average daily patient volume: 8
  • Team composition: 2 additional Nuclear Medicine Technologists
  • Ideal candidate traits: Independent, proactive contributor with adaptability.

Compensation: $48.97 per hour
